We won't be seeing the new 2013 Chevrolet Malibu in U.S. showrooms until after next year's Super Bowl XLVI, but GM is already handing out early prototypes to journalists for a first encounter with the mid-size sedan.

This time, it's Motor Trend magazine editor Todd Lassa who was handed the keys to Chevrolet's newcomer. However, being that the example he drove and which you can see in the video after the hump, isn't a final production model but a showcar, there wasn't much to say about the Malibu's handling or other characteristics.

In one of the weirdest car accidents of the year so far, a young man wearing only a t-shirt crashed his new Chevrolet Camaro in a park located at Sao Bernardo do Campo in São Paulo, Brazil.

According to the local media, the unnamed man who happens to be the son of an influential businessman, was found locked inside the Camaro coupe intoxicated with a bottle of whiskey on his side but luckily, unhurt.

There's more than meets the eye when it comes to the development of a new vehicle and its individual components, and like all automakers, GM pays particular attention to the design of the seats – let's not forget, that's where the driver and passengers will spend their time in the car.

Understandably, the design process becomes more complicated in the event that the car is a global model like the 2013 Chevrolet Malibu, which will be offered in nearly 100 countries on six continents, including the U.S. where it will arrive in showrooms next year.

It can’t get more embarrassing than this – well, that is, unless someone has footage showing us how the owner of the blue Chevrolet Camaro got himself in this sticky situation in the underground parking garage in the first place.

The folks over at Late Model Racecraft pride themselves for being “Home of the world's quickest and fastest stock suspended LSX”. In one of their latest tunes, they crafted a twin-turbocharged Chevrolet Camaro for owner Kelly Bise who will race the car at the Texas Mile event this weekend. The insane Camaro was thrown on a dyno to see how much power is sent to the rear wheels. The result? 1,809.6 ponies. Impressive, to say the least. Just before the season opener of the American Le Mans Series (ALMS) at the Sebring International Raceway in Florida this past weekend, GM aired an aggressive commercial touting its 638-horsepower-strong Corvette ZR1. The ad claims that the firm’s engineers had to reduce the stock ZR1’s LS9 engine output by 168HP in order to compete in the race and “just to be fair against Porsche, Ferrari and BMW”.

For one, the Corvette ALMS racers are actually powered by a V8 loosely based on the Z06’s LS7 engine (see the second video after the jump). Perhaps most importantly, the Corvettes finished third and fourth in the GT class in Sebring behind two BMW M3 GTs… Videos follow after the break.

We can think of many things going wrong during a live TV show, but an SUV backing up straight on a reporter isn’t one them. The indecent happened when ‘10News’ sports director Ben Higgins was reporting live from Tucson, Arizona on the NCAA basketball tournament. Fortunately for Higgins, his cameraman stepped in and stopped the Chevy driver before anything worse happened. Watch the video after the break.
