Is not just a rumor anymore: Bugatti confirmed today that the company is indeed working on a Targa version of the Veyron supercar and that will debut in 2009.

The variant with a removable hardtop "because there was no other solution which could fit with its safety cage," the source, a former Bugatti executive, said.

As the coupe version the targa version will also be limited to only 300 units.
